Who We Are
Bhumi Foundation is a social organization committed to improving the lives of underprivileged and economically weaker sections of society through education, welfare, and community development. Established on 2nd October, Gandhi Jayanti, under the inspiration of renowned Marathi actress Hon. Alka Kubal and founded by social worker Kailas Pawar, the organization works with the belief that meaningful social change is possible through collective participation.
The name “Bhumi Foundation” symbolizes gratitude toward Mother Earth and reflects our commitment to nurturing and protecting society through service and compassion. Our initiatives focus on supporting children, especially girls from disadvantaged backgrounds, assisting families affected by agrarian distress, and promoting education, values, and self-reliance.
Through our free residential facility in Wagholi, Pune, along with health camps, educational guidance programs, cultural events, and relief activities, we strive to create opportunities that empower individuals and strengthen communities. Guided by our motto, “Development through Public Participation,” we continue to work toward building an inclusive, educated, and self-reliant society.
